Call to Worship & Invocation

Call to Worship: Joel 2:28-29, 32a (ESV)
“And it shall come to pass afterward,
    that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your old men shall dream dreams,
and your young men shall see visions.
Even on the male and female servants
in those days I will pour out my Spirit.
And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Prayer of Adoration
We praise God because His grace is not subject to human limitations, such as gender, age, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status.

Songs of Praise
Open Up the Heavens by Rozier / McDonald / Ingram
All Creatures of Our God and King by St. Francis of Assisi / Draper / Baird / Baird

Confession & Consecration

Public Confession
We confess our rebellion and our need of God’s grace

Responsive Reading: 1 John 1:5-10
This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Private Confession (Prayer of Confession and Thanksgiving)
We rejoice in God’s mercy and pardon of sinners through the sacrificial and substitutionary death of Jesus Christ.

Assurance of Pardon: 1 John 2:1-2
My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.

Song of Confession
Have Mercy on Me – Bischof / Sczebel

Ministry of the Word

Answer – God is eternal.

The Church is Sent

Benediction/Sending: 2 Corinthians 13:11-14
Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the saints greet you. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Live in peace among the brothers and proclaim the peace of God in Christ to the nations.
