Here For You by Reeves/Maher/Redman/Wanstall

Pastoral Greeting and Announcements

Congregational Reading: Psalm 24:7-9
For the king trusts in the LORD, and through the steadfast love of the Most High he shall not be moved. Your hand will find out all your enemies; your right hand will find out those who hate you. You will make them as a blazing oven when you appear. The LORD will swallow them up in his wrath, and fire will consume them.

Crown Him With Many Crowns by Bridges/Thring/Elvey

Responsive Reading: Psalm 33:13-15
The LORD looks down from heaven; he sees all the children of man; from where he sits enthroned he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth, he who fashions the hearts of them all and observes all their deeds.

Prayer of Confession:
Lord of heaven, we praise you this morning that you are the God who sees. You made the world, and so you own the world, and so you rule the world. We confess this morning that we often ignore this truth and pretend that we made and rule ourselves. We love the darkness because our deeds are evil. Some of us tried to hide from you this week, but no one can hide from you. Some of us are even hoping that being in church this morning will blind you to what you saw us thinking and doing earlier this week. Father, forgive us. Thank you for the Lord Jesus. He saw us while we were still weak, but instead of turning away, he ran toward us. While we were still weak, your Word teaches us, Christ died for the ungodly. And now his death in our place means we no longer have to hide because we have been hidden in him. So, Holy Spirit, melt our hearts with the reality of God’s love for us. We are not here to hide, but to be found by you again. We pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
