Call to Worship
Each week, the Lord’s invitation to us is to come just as we are. Our life-long prayer is that we’d continuously experience God’s love freshly and respond with every breath. Hear His Word:
I will sing of the Lord’s unfailing love forever!
Young and old will hear of your faithfulness.
All heaven will praise your great wonders, Lord;
Myriads of angels will praise you for your faithfulness.
For who in all of heaven can compare with the Lord?
What mightiest angel is anything like the Lord?
The highest angelic powers stand in awe of God.
He is far more awesome than all who surround his throne.
O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies!
Where is there anyone as mighty as you, O Lord?
You are entirely faithful.
Let’s sing together
Song: All Creatures Of Our God And King by Francis of Assisi.
“When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?”
When we see the greatness of God, and all that he has made, we recognize that we are not like him. So often we live like we are in control and it’s good to remind ourselves that we need God’s power. Let’s sing this as our confession:
Song: Now Why This Fear written by Doug Plank and Augustus Toplady.
Let’s be encouraged by God’s Word:
I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
Today we rejoice in a good Savior who loves and has given his life for us. Let’s rejoice in that today.
Song: Beautiful Savior written by Stuart Townend.
It’s a joy to be able to sing to our Savior together as a family this morning! I invite you to take a moment and welcome those around you.
Then we preached from Ephesians 3:1-13. You can hear Sojourn sermons in the Sojourn Church iTunes podcast or in the Sermon Resource library at sojournchurch.com.
Song: Come to the Feast written by Jeff Lawson.
Reading: Colossians 3:10 –
Here the Word of the Lord:
“…put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all.”
Song: New Again written by Brooks Ritter and Mike Cosper.
Benediction: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope
